Master of Science Programme in Biology - nine specialisations
The Biology programme has several specialisations characterised by a starting course and one or several other profile courses. You should choose one course per period. Where alternative starting courses are given, the course is selected based on student background. The headings are links to pages with more information.
When you have taken the mandatory courses for your specialisation you may choose from the list of courses in English within the master programme in biology.

NABiS
You take courses (mainly distance courses with field course meetings) at different Universities (Gothenburg, Stockholm, Uppsala, Lund, Oslo, Trondheim, Tromsø, Copenhagen, Aarhus) and have your home department and work space where you would prefer to do your degree project. You work with your degree project over a longer period alternating the degree project work with courses.
Mandatory starting courses:
Alpha taxonomical principles, 5 c (on another website - distance course given by Gotheburg Uni)
Fundamental and molecular systematics, 10 c, 1BG393 (Uppsala)
Other Uppsala courses:
Informatics toolbox for systematics, 5 c, 1BG395
Fungal diversity and evolution, 10 c, 1BG376
Diversity and Identification of Marine Invertebrates, 5 c, 1BG394
Individual courses
In addition to the compulsory and elective courses within the program, you can also take individual courses. These courses gives you the ability to flexibly profile and specialise yourself even more.
