The course focuses on mechanisms which regulate the different phases of plant development at the molecular, cellular and organismal levels. It is based on current research in molecular plant biology, plant physiology, and developmental genetics. Plant growth and development is genetically regulated but governed in large also by integration of external signals. In the course we therefore discuss how external signals such as light and water availability, affect the processes that control plant development. A large part of the course is dedicated to a mini-research project where various skills are trained such as how to theoretically plan and then practically execute a smaller project, and to present this both orally and in the format of a scientific mini-report.
