We offer four different master programmes that are fully adapted to the standards set by the European Bologna model. The programmes are open to both Swedish and international applicants. In late October 2010 Biology in Uppsala obtained a renewed Excellence Ranking by the German Centre for Higher Education Development (CHE). The CHE ranking is meant to serve as an aid for students in search for a suitable Master programme at a European university. In fact, based on student questionnaires, Uppsala was rated the very highest among all European universities that were part of the biology survey.

Choosing the right programme

If you have trouble choosing which one is the right programme for you, a quick initial comparison can be obtained on the CHE ranking pages by clicking the respective programme names on that page.

Furthermore, we have also prepared a comparison table which may serve as a further guide for tentatively choosing the right programme. Note however that it is very important that you also read and compare all the detailed information available on the respective programme pages before finally deciding and placing your application!

It is particularly important that you thoroughly compare alternatives if you are primarily interested in either of Applied Biotechnology, Molecular Biotechnology or Biology: specialisation Cell and Molecular Biology.
